APAC - Communication Specialist


 
Position Summary:
Primary responsibility will be to collect, synthesize, and disseminate information about our various activities; develop a communications strategy to keep our employees and customers informed and engaged; and use online communication tools and social media to collaborate within organization and publicize our activities to an international audience (inside and outside the organization). Responsible for internal communications content that is delivered within an organization, including internal and external newsletters, executive emails, townhall communications, webex meetings, Corporate Social responsibility communications and marketing material.

  • Reports to : Vice President, HR, Asia Pacific
  • Direct Reports : None
  • This position internally works closely with :
    • Asia Pacific Leadership Team
    • Internal Communications team
    • HR team within Asia Pacific
    • Asia Pacific Marketing team
  • Additionally, the following external relationships will be required of this position:
    • Networks of communications specialists
    • Advertising agencies

 SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for communications (both internal and external) within Asia Pacific region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implement a Regional communications plan for the roll out of company programs and experiences.
  • Leverage existing communication channels and create new vehicles to effectively communicate the company story.
  • Drive the development of employee facing messaging and communications including writing and editing blogs, emails and other communications
  • Work cross-functionally with the leadership team to communicate the company story with a consistent tone and voice. Also responsible for planning and coordinating communication initiatives focused on helping leaders effectively communicate to their organizations. 
  • Maintain and execute a proactive editorial calendar that keeps news from AP Leadership team consistent for all employees regionally.
  • Design, develop, and maintain an Asia Pacific Intranet that will serve as a resource for the entire project and a repository for relevant communications, publications, and other materials. Ensure content and format for intranet is in accordance with internal communications policy, and up to date.
  • Produce compelling social media content to support online and social engagement and other communications objectives. Coordinate with and assist countries in developing multimedia content and creating a social media strategy.
  • Measure effectiveness of communications, by identifying benchmarks for employee engagement and reporting on results monthly.  Examples include views, comments, likes, shares, sentiment and response from employees.
  • Manage and support key employee events/engagements, such as all hands or townhall meeting and other internal meetings (both onsite and offsite). May include coordination for booking rooms/venues, ordering F&B, AV and other events-related services, securing guest/internal speakers and managing event-specific communications.
  • Provide employee communications counsel and training to other employee communicators across the company.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with marketing to publish timely company information, such as customer newsletters and company initiatives/updates.

 Desired Skills and Experience
JOB & REQUIREMENT 
  • BA/BS degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, HR or equivalent practical experience
  • 5- 7 years combined internal/ employee communications experience, in global corporate communications or agency environment a plus
  • Must have experience in delivering amazing employee experiences through effective communications as well as internally facing events/engagements
  • Experience working across various communications platforms, in both print and digital. WordPress and social media skills a plus. Familiarity with social media tools and strategies
  • Ability to transition between multitudes of programs seamlessly
  • Thrives and leads in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think outside the box to create new and innovative ways to communicate with employees that reflect the company culture
  • Familiarity with tools and processes used for managing and monitoring internal communications
  • Demonstrated/documented creative and innovative design skills.
  • Self-starter with an ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to travel internationally on occasion
