Role and Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a product feature and build it end to end.
• Integrate existing HackerEarth products/features in mobile app.
• Understand and study how developers interact on mobile and how we can leverage it.
• Contribute to the ways the platform can be made much more engaging and can reach out to a larger audience.
• Understand issues like response time, scalability, asynchronous systems, user engagement and write code considering these paradigms.

Looking for

• Good understanding of Android application architecture, and it's various components e.g. Intents, Fragments, and Notifications.
• Expertise in working on multi-threaded apps, parsing XML & JSON, REST APIs and web services.
• Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of memory management, network & socket programming, concurrency and multi-threading.
• Good knowledge of Java, OOP Design, and Javascript. Familiarity with Eclipse/Android Studio, Maven/Gradle is recommended.
• Previously worked on Android location APIs, multiple screen sizes, and social APIs integration.

Required Skills

• 3 year+ experience in Android app development.
• Hands on experience in Python & Django.
• Familiarity with development on a Linux system.

Desired Skills

• Interest in contributing to open source projects
• Knowledge of system programming in UNIX environment
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Prepared to go through roller-coaster highs and lows of a startup journey.
