Role and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a product feature and build it end to end.
- Integrate existing HackerEarth products/features in mobile app.
- Understand and study how developers interact on mobile and how we can leverage it.
- Contribute to the ways the platform can be made much more engaging and can reach out to a larger audience.
- Understand issues like response time, scalability, asynchronous systems, user engagement and write code considering these paradigms.
Looking for
- Good understanding of Android application architecture, and it's various components e.g. Intents, Fragments, and Notifications.
- Expertise in working on multi-threaded apps, parsing XML & JSON, REST APIs and web services.
- Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures.
- Knowledge of memory management, network & socket programming, concurrency and multi-threading.
- Good knowledge of Java, OOP Design, and Javascript. Familiarity with Eclipse/Android Studio, Maven/Gradle is recommended.
- Previously worked on Android location APIs, multiple screen sizes, and social APIs integration.
Required Skills
- 3 year+ experience in Android app development.
- Hands on experience in Python & Django.
- Familiarity with development on a Linux system.
Desired Skills
- Interest in contributing to open source projects
- Knowledge of system programming in UNIX environment
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
- Prepared to go through roller-coaster highs and lows of a startup journey.
