Job description

is a uniquely designed citizenship education programme aimed at empowering children with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to develop a deep sense of ownership and responsibility towards the society they live in, thus aiming to transform today's children into active citizens of tomorrow.
The post of the facilitator is open in the cities of Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Cochin, Kanpur, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Nagpur 

The Bala Janaagraha Facilitator will:-

  • Supervise the development of the Bala Janaagraha school programme -the delivery of learning experiences in the specified number of schools.
  • Implement the programme in these schools- this would include teaching/ interacting with school children, teachers and volunteers-referred to as Bala Janaagraha Mitras (BJMs).
  • Manage the relationship and communicate with the school authorities and all related stakeholders of the programme- through emails, calls, meetings, etc.,
  • Manage records for the schools as required- ensure creation and maintenance of database of students, volunteers, school management and other programme stakeholders; maintain an online weekly log of activities and challenges faced by the BJMs /themselves in the course of their work.
  • Facilitate various events for the students- including competitions, surveys etc.
  • The facilitator will report to the Bala Janaagraha Manager.
  • Build ways to leverage the alumni of the programme; encourage children to submit articles/blogs to the team.
  • Maintain a repository of teaching aids/methodology for use of BJMs, assist in recruiting and training BJMs for the school programme as required.
  • Support marketing and scaling up the programme as required and must be flexible in taking up different project team roles in a school environment/the organisation.


Qualifications/ Experience:

  1. Minimum qualification required is Graduation; any higher qualification could be an added advantage
  2. Experience in delivering educational programs and activities desirable.
  3. Competencies Required:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and local language.
  • Must enjoy teaching and working with children.
  • Must be able to engage children through activity based learning.
  • Through the civic projects, must look at building self-confidence and inculcating team spirit.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office and the internet.

Job Duration/Schedule: 

  1. The Facilitator would be required to work at the schools during the school working hours between June-January of the academic session. In addition, there will be program related admin work wherein the facilitator will be required to attend to his/her duties. This will include coming to the Janaagraha office when not at school, within the working hours of Janaagraha. The Facilitator will be required to attend the team meeting at the Janaagraha office every Wednesday.
  2. The Facilitator would be required to be present at the specified schools under his / her charge as per the daily Bala Janaagraha time table in schools and for any other visits.
  3. Other City Facilitators need to keep in touch with the JCCD office through email and phone and update their work log online.
