Scope of the Job:
The B Capital team is looking for an outstanding Sr. Software Engineer that possesses not only a strong understanding of the most current technologies, but also a passion for thinking outside the box with a can-do attitude. We are looking for someone who is excited about 'day one' environments, wants to work on tools, dashboards and other systems that influence investment decisions. Your work will have a lasting long term positive impact.
You should have expertise in full stack development with expert-level knowledge in backend systems (linux/command line, mysql, apache, etc) as well as front end development (php, javascript, css, etc). There is a high degree of ownership - You should have excellent business and communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create complex, high quality, enterprise-transforming business applications
- Creatively solve problems and engineer solutions that are technically challenging and thought not possible by others
- Use the latest tools and methodologies (php, Javascript, React, Sql, Git, CSS, AJAX, CMS, Agile Methodologies, Web Services, Cloud Computing Infrastructure)
- Prepare software for deployment to production environments
- Manage small projects independently and work as a team member on larger projects
Please note that this is a non-investment professional role and will not track towards investment team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduate or undergraduate degree in computer science, math, or other technical discipline (e.g. applied mathematics, statistics, physics or engineering).
- 10+ years of experience as a Sr. Software Engineer
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to conceptualize solutions
- Expertise in use of design patterns, refactoring and unit testing
- Experience working in a variety of code bases and production environments
- Strong experience building out written documentation for end users and system architecture documentation for the technical team
