Performance analysis in Processors, 10+ Bangalore

Job Description

own processor implementations and to those implemented by its architectural licensees. The

Processor Division (PD) at (leader in processor design) develops processor and fabric IP spanning a range of

performance points while offering industry leading features within highly competitive power

and area footprints. (leader in processor design)’s comprehensive processor product offering includes RISC CPUs,

graphics processors (GPUs) and video processors (VPUs), enabling software, cell libraries,

embedded memories, high-speed connectivity products, peripherals and development tools.

Job Requirements

Job Purpose and Accountabilities

We are looking for experienced hardware/software engineers to work in the Performance

Analysis and Benchmarking team in the Processor Division. In this position you will have a

system wide perspective to analyze and improve performance of IP on (leader in processor design) PD Roadmap.

You will be focusing on the performance measurement and analysis of CPU HW, SW, and

entire systems. You will be working closely with the top architects at (leader in processor design) with the goal for

maximizing performance that our customers can reach with our IP.

The performance analysis work requires an understanding of how the overall performance is

established from different parts of the system. It is important to collaborate with the experts

in different areas, collect relevant information and apply it to understand the performance

limitations in the system, and explore methods for optimizing performance. The desired

candidate would bring in strong technical leadership towards benchmarking methodology.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelors/Masters/PhD (Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent engineering disciple)

with good academic record

10+ Years of experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Solid foundation in Computer Architecture

- C/C++ Programming and scripting skills (e.g. Perl, Shell)

- Experience with standard GNU/Linux tool chain, shells, source versioning systems such as

Subversion

- Systematic working methodology required for designing experiments, performance

measurement, and analysis

- Extensive experience of developing embedded software, including debugging on models,

RTL, and boards

- Experience with standard GNU/Linux tool chain, shells, source versioning systems such as

Subversion

- Excellent understanding of at least one architecture

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Experience with performance modelling, performance analysis and benchmarking

- Knowledge of performance aspects of CPU and SoC

- Knowledge of ARM architecture

Interpersonal Skills

- Motivated, result-focused lead who is able to work in a team, or work independently

- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
