The Marketplace organization
drives the Selling on Amazon business and develops solutions that enable

We are looking for a visionary
technical leader to work on the Seller Services team to improve the Catalog
Quality though automated machine learning methodologies. As this leader, you
will combine your technical vision with business judgment in making decisions
and guiding the teams. You will be the primary owner in building
high-performance teams, driving innovation, technology roadmaps and delivery of
customer-centric systems. You will be executing in a fast-paced environment,
driving for results and continuous improvements in Seller
experience.
Ideal Candidate:
- · Must be technically credible to lead teams of world-class software engineers and be able to make the right design decisions and technology choices
- · Deep understanding of overall systems development life cycle including various methodologies (agile, waterfall, iterative)
- · Experienced in developing the long-term strategy for technology platforms and that translate into an achievable roadmap
- · Experienced building and managing teams that designs and delivers scalable, extensible complex distributed systems.
- · Has managed remote development teams
- · Understands how to scope and justify resources and budget needs to senior leaders and finance partners
- · Knows how to effectively operate technology platforms which are highly reliable
- · Experience with open source technologies, object-oriented design, and agile development methodologies
Responsibilities:
- Build a Business and Ontology
supported Operations team to train the machine learning system with relevant
data
- Build and Manage high performing
technical teams
- Fix the defects in catalog with
machine learning techniques or by improving manual
operations
- Use analytical influence over
multiple departments, increasing their productivity and effectiveness to achieve
strategic goals
- Work with Sellers, business
managers, operations, software development, sales, account managers, legal and
finance.
- Build and execute on new
initiatives and roadmaps each year
- Work with the functional business
leaders to build scalable processes and metrics
- Support network level excellence
in six sigma and lean practices through designing and implementing systems,
metrics, and programs that drive adoption and continuous
improvement.
- Provide metrics inputs to various
reporting decks; communicate key performance indicators to the Seller Services
team in support of network objectives.
- Collaborate with counterparts in
other functional areas in the company
Basic
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering,
Math, Statistics or related discipline
- 10 + years Management experience
in a retail, manufacturing, production or quality, distribution
environment
- Ability to lead, teach and develop
associates and managers to deliver key organizational
goals.
- Cross-functional project
management experience
- Process improvement experience via
Six-Sigma and LEAN tools
- Experience using and communicating
performance metrics
- Proven track record to creating
and executing on highly effective quality processes
- Strong people management skills,
with a proven ability to hire and grow talented personnel in multiple
locations
- Is innovative, can simplify, and
has relentlessly high standards
- Maintains composure in the face of
highly ambiguous environments and constant change
