Note: Technical assistant is expected to have an interview alone.

About the Environment

The research project entitled "Directed Basic Research in Smart and Secure Environment" is sanctioned by National Technical Research Organization
(NTRO). The Smart and Security Lab is geographically dispersed among 8 best Indian universities and colleges in Tamil Nadu. All the eight institutions will
be connected by MPLS network with 2Mbps Connectivity and this will be the test bed for this project.

Following are the participating institutions.

IIT Madras, Anna University, Pondichery University, NIT Trichy, PSG College of Technology, Thiagaraja College of Engineering Madurai, Madurai
Kamaraj University and Alagappa University, karaikudi.

Project Overview

In the era of Information Technology, trust and privacy are the foremost requirements. In this project a distributed framework will be built for a smart and
secure environment to develop applications for secure transaction, non-invasive diagnosis and cure, e-learning and e-banking. This involves profiling an
operating system based on security architecture and then developing a framework for secure transactions. Our aim is to promote risk free environment for
critical applications and to secure the environment from the contemporary threats. This can be achieved by designing new algorithms, protocols and
functions to improve the internal and external communications, because communication of any form is risk-prone. Duration of this project is Three to Five
years.

About the Work Responsibility

Research Associates/Assistants are expected to do research under the nourishment of highly accomplished Researchers. The RAs are encouraged to
have international level publication which will enlighten their research oriented carrier. SSE is simply a manifold opportunity in ample measures because it
welcomes solutions and innovations from the networks and network security domains; this is the one best opportunity to have such platform wherein your
innovative ideas are very much welcomed. , Based on the performance newly appointed staffs are motivated to pursue a masters or Doctorate Degree by
research

Candidates must be able to define new research directions and but also to contribute to ongoing activities. They are expected to carry out a project from
exploratory thinking to the deployment of practical solutions. We emphasize and motivate national and international teamwork to hone your skills. A strong
drive to create innovative solutions and to work with partners inside and outside of SSE is a must.

Specifically, we are looking for aspiring researchers who can contribute to our research as follows.

The SSE group is pursuing a wide variety of research activities in the area of environment security and compliance. We are working on intrusion detection,
security in social networks, cryptography and related projects. Given our broad portfolio of research activities, we are looking for candidates who are
flexible towards and interested in security research topics beyond their own area of expertise.

Our Monitoring team comprises leading experts on all aspects of security, ranging from inventing new cryptographic algorithm and protocols and network
related security aspects.
